Reflecting on P&G’s Longstanding Commitment to Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality and Efforts to Better Serve the LGBTQ+ Community

This Pride Month, we’re recognizing the continued progress P&G has made to support the LGBTQ+ community through our brands, employees and partners.

At P&G, Pride Month is a culmination of our unwavering commitment to create an inclusive environment where anyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can forge a meaningful career. We believe a diverse set of employees and inclusive culture improves the work we do and strengthens how our brands authentically connect with the billions of consumers we serve.

This year, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of GABLE, P&G’s LGBTQ+ global employee resource group, spanning over 50 countries with 5,000 LGBTQ+ and ally members worldwide. Since its founding in 1994, GABLE has led the charge for a more inclusive and equitable path forward for our LGBTQ+ colleagues around the world, ultimately helping to foster deeper relationships and trust among consumers.

To better understand GABLE’s origins, meet the pioneers who bravely fought to change P&G’s corporate culture for the better in the early 1990s. ”Out of the Shadows” is an award-winning documentary that tells the story of a group of gay and lesbian employees at P&G’s Cincinnati headquarters as they banded together to advocate for equality, educate employees and lay the foundation for what later became known as GABLE.

In 2023, we received our 10th consecutive perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index — the nation’s foremost benchmarking tool that annually measures companies’ policies, practices and benefits directly impacting LGBTQ+ employees. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to creating an inclusive culture where all colleagues can bring their whole selves to work, which enables us to attract, develop and retain the best talent, and improves the ability of our company and our brands to win with an increasingly diverse set of consumers around the world.

At P&G, we also partner with organizations around the globe, working to achieve equal access and opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community to help economies grow, businesses thrive and communities flourish. One of our largest programming efforts each year is Can’t Cancel Pride, an annual benefit that recognizes the trailblazers creating positive change while also providing much needed visibility and funding for six LGBTQ+ organizations to continue their transformative work of supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Now in its fifth year, Can’t Cancel Pride has raised more than $17M for organizations, including GLAAD, The Trevor Project, SAGE, Outright International, National Black Justice Coalition and CenterLink.

This year’s event will be streaming across iHeart Radio’s YouTube & Facebook, Hulu, RevryTV and the Advocate Channel starting June 12th at 8:00 p.m. ET.

P&G and our brands have also supported Pride programs in communities around the globe since 2000. We now participate in more than 50 Pride celebrations worldwide annually — bringing together our LGBTQ+ and ally employees to celebrate their contributions to our company and the communities we serve.

“Since I joined P&G over 20 years ago, we have made significant strides in creating superior experiences for LGBTQ+ consumers and employees, positively impacting individuals and communities. I’m incredibly proud of our continued momentum serving LGBTQ+ consumers through our brands, community partners and programming, including Can’t Cancel Pride. Celebrating Pride each year reignites our commitment to remain steadfast in our support of the LGBTQ+ community, all with the hope of creating a company and a world where equality and inclusion are achievable for all.”

— Brent Miller, Senior Director of Global LGBTQ+ Engagement

While we recognize Pride Month, our commitment to championing LGBTQ+ equality extends beyond June. We will continue creating superior experiences for our employees, customers and partners so that we may better serve LGBTQ+ consumers now and for generations to come.
